HOW TO GET YOUR BROKER LICENSE
Applicants for a real estate broker’s license must meet the below requirements in addition to meeting the salesperson licensing requirements. An applicant must:
- Have been actively engaged as a real estate salesperson for 36 of the 48 months immediately preceding the day of license application.
- Have successfully completed 180 hours of classroom study approved by the VREB in various approved subjects. Courses may be taken even though the 36 month requirement is not yet met. ALPHA College of Real Estate offers broker’s licensing courses throughout the year.
- Pass the Broker’s examination with a 75% on EACH section (National and Virginia portions).
If you are currently licensed in another jurisdiction, visit the VREB website and see section 18 VAC 135-20-60 Qualifications for Licensure by reciprocity. |

RE MARKETING TIPS
How important is it to treat your clients or customers fairly and build positive relationships? The 2009 Edelman Trust Survey, a survey of more than 4,400 people across the globe, found that more than 91 percent of respondents chose to buy products from companies considered trusted. On the other hand, 71 percent indicated that over the past 12 months they refused to purchase from a company they distrusted.
