Principles Of Real Estate
The 60-hour Principles of Real Estate course is designed to prepare the student to pass the Virginia State Examination for licensure as a real estate salesperson. The course includes basic laws governing the ownership and transfer of real estate, the terminology associated with the real estate industry, terms of sales contracts and other documents used to transact real estate business. In addition, students will learn the Virginia regulations that control the real estate industry, how mortgages work, and the advantages and disadvantages of certain types of financing. Instruction in fair housing and other federal and state laws that guarantee equal rights and protect consumers will help the student in the practice of real estate.

3-week Courses, Monday – Friday
Our classrooms have been reconfigured to reduce the number of students in a classroom and allow for space between students.
Students are required to:
- Stay home if sick
- Practice social distancing in the building
- Wear a mask while in the buildings/classrooms. Students will be asked to leave if you do not wear a face covering.
- Bring your own pencils, note paper and calculators- no loaners will be available.
- Frequent breaks will be instituted so that students may wash their hands and reduce the amount of students in the restroom at a given time.
- Students may only bring drinks into the building, no food.
For the courses below, you may select DAY (9 am - 1:15 pm) or
EVENING (6:15 - 10:30 pm) classes.
If you are a prior Alpha Principles student within the last 5 years please call our office before registering.

Saturday Exam Prep Course
9 am - 5 pm
(30 minute lunch period – please bring your lunch)
This course will review both National and State topics through testing and review of the test, plus a final exam that will count, upon passing, towards Alpha's Principles course completion*
This course DOES NOT include lecture on Principle topics. The review is conducted through discussion of test questions.
